Our Partners
The Indianapolis Zoo’s new cheetah exhibit is lucky to have two different sets of partners whose generosity and concern for wildlife and wild places have made this extraordinary addition to the Zoo possible.
Polly Hix and Tony Fair are no strangers to the Zoo. Polly has served on the Zoo’s board of trustees, on animal health committees, on executive oversight groups, and has put her support behind the zoo’s veterinary care and its entire conservation effort by endowing the Polly H. Hix Institute for Research and Conservation. Polly and Tony have travelled to the wild numerous times to better understand the plight of animal species, to talk with conservationists in the field, and to translate that knowledge into action once on home turf. The Indianapolis Zoo thanks Polly and Tony for having generous hearts that will make a difference to this endangered species.

Joining Polly and Tony on the fast track of saving the cheetah, The Tony Stewart Foundation is partnering with the Zoo through a conservation education gift. The Zoo is only one of many different causes supported by this Indiana native and two-time national NASCAR champion. He has adopted the cause of saving endangered cheetahs, and Tony is featured in the “Race a Cheetah” section of the exhibit where visitors can follow an array of LED lights and compare their speed to that of the fastest animal on land. Zoo visitors are charged 50 cents to participate in "Race a Cheetah," and all net proceeds go directly to the Cheetah Conservation Fund in Namibia, Africa. The Tony Steward Foundation is also providing conservation education gifts to support additional Zoo programming.
